Don't mind if I do:

The Grind is real

The Journey

Every brand starts with an idea.

Sometimes it’s just a thought that won’t go away. An image in your mind. A feeling. A world you want to create. For **Skulls & Sons**, that’s exactly what it was: the vision to build something of their own. Not just to sell products, but to create a brand with character. A brand with style, attitude, and a story of its own.

The path from the initial idea to the first finished product wasn’t a straight one. It was a process full of decisions, nights spent in front of the screen, discarded designs, new approaches, and countless small steps that gradually grew into something bigger.

From the First Idea to a World of Our Own

It all started with a question: What exactly should Skulls & Sons be?

It quickly became clear that it shouldn’t be just about collectibles. It was supposed to be about an atmosphere—a blend of dark design, attention to detail, a passion for collecting, and digital culture. It was about objects that you don’t just own, but that carry a story.

From this idea, a world of its own gradually took shape. Names were gathered, designs sketched, and concepts tested. Some ideas worked right away. Others were discarded. This process is exactly what’s part of it. Because a brand isn’t created in a day. It’s born out of friction, doubt, adaptation, and the determination to keep going.

The Hard Work Behind the Scenes

What eventually looks simple from the outside is often the result of a lot of hard work behind the scenes.

While others only see the finished product, a lot of time goes into things at Skulls & Sons that remain invisible: setting up the shop system, technical adjustments, product pages, payment processes, images, text, structure, performance, and design. Every button, every category, and every detail has to be decided on, built, and tested at some point.

At the same time, the first graphics and visual elements took shape. Piece by piece, the brand’s look evolved. Colors, shapes, symbols, and imagery all had to come together. It wasn’t just about looking “cool.” It was about making sure everything looked like Skulls & Sons—recognizable, distinctive, and with a clear direction.

From Graphic to Collectible

A particularly exciting part of the journey is the transition from digital design to physical product.

A graphic on the screen is just the beginning. It’s only when it becomes a real collectible that you realize whether the idea works. Shapes, materials, surfaces, sizes, details, and production must all come together. What looks great digitally must also be compelling when held in your hand.

This is exactly where the next phase of the work begins: testing, adjusting, and improving. Testing prototypes. Tweaking details. Scrutinizing quality. Because in the end, the goal isn’t just to create any product, but a collectible that people will enjoy unboxing, admiring, and keeping.

Building It Up, Not Taking Shortcuts

Skulls & Sons isn’t built overnight.

That’s why this page is more than just a quick peek behind the scenes. It’s the start of an ongoing journal. Here, we’re documenting the journey: the progress, the challenges, the first products, new designs, technical updates, production steps, and everything that happens along the way.

It’s about the real work of building something. About the work you don’t always see. About the process from the initial spark to the finished product. About small successes, setbacks, and the next steps.

The Beginning of a Longer Story

With Skulls & Sons, something is just getting started.

The shop is taking shape. The first collectibles are coming together. The brand is taking on a personality. And this journey will continue—step by step.

Little by little, a blog is taking shape here to document this process. It’s not perfectly staged—it’s real. It offers insights into design, production, programming, decision-making, and the entire journey behind the brand.

Because in the end, Skulls & Sons isn’t just the product that ends up in the shop: It’s everything that happens before that.

The grind. The idea. The late nights. The sketches. The mistakes. The improvements. The first finished pieces.

And that’s exactly what the journey is all about.
